Dependency & Neglect cases through supervised visitation. Additionally, Amber continued to ensure safety post return by providing in-home reunification services. As a home-based services provider, Amber also provided mentoring/behavior coaching services directly to youth to prevent out of home placement, and/or reintegrate the child post return. While contracting with West Virginia DHHR from 2009-2019, Amber had a successful case closure rate of 72.7%. Since moving to Colorado in 2019, Amber has continued to work closely with families facing child removals through Dependency/Neglect cases with several counties’ DHS offices, to continue to provide exemplary services to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, including Family Parenting Time Supervision, Parent Coaching and Education, Behavior Coaching/Mentoring, and Adult Life Skills.
In 2023, Amber further expanded her practice to work with families in Divorce Relations court, in order to offer services to families experiencing separation through divorce and custody disputes. Amber currently serves families in Douglas, Arapahoe, Denver, Jefferson, Adams, and El Paso counties. Amber is a trauma informed, strengths based, and solutions focused provider. She collaborates with parents, children, families, community resources, and the professional teams (GAL, attorney’s, therapists, school, etc.) to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children she serves. Amber has extensive experience dealing with parents using substances or facing abuse/neglect charges within the child welfare system. She has Certifications in CPR (including infants) and is certified in the Nurturing Parenting Program. Amber is also adept at guiding parents through challenging behaviors, by utilizing The Whole Brain Child, Active Parenting Method, Total Transformations, and The Kazdin Method for Parenting the Defiant Child, to name a few. Amber has worked with children and parents through a variety of difficult circumstances to prevent removal, or to reunify successfully after a family separation. Amber has worked with families facing all kinds of challenges; from separation/divorce, mental health challenges, truancy, and abuse/neglect. She is a member of the Supervised Visitation Network [one of the only regulatory bodies for this type of work] and adheres to their standards and code of ethics. Additionally, Amber is always building her knowledge base by taking training offered by that organization, as well as others, including the Colorado Child Welfare Training System and PESI.
